The Juggler
A Tribute to Simple Shapes
Division:
approx. 600 triangles
Movement:
static
The sculpture features a juggler riding a unicycle, skillfully
tossing five Platonic solids into the air. These simple geometric
forms pay homage to the origins of the studio’s work, a nod to
the early days when their intricate triangular figures began with
basic shapes crafted from dichroic materials. This piece is a
tribute to those early explorations in geometry.
Though the figure itself is static, the Platonic solids move gently
with the breeze, giving the impression of continuous motion.
The juggler’s stability comes from a custom aluminum
exoskeleton, perfectly fitted to the figure’s back, subtly hidden
from the front view. This clever construction creates the illusion
of a living performer, frozen in a moment of graceful and
precise motion.
