Light can refract into every color, and we want them all! As a Berlin-based artist duo, we create three-dimensional sculptures that react to light and interact with people.

Art + Design

We blend traditional methods of art and design, pushing boundaries with a thoughtful approach to our sculptures. By combining creative exploration with practical design principles, we consider the context and environment, ensuring each piece integrates naturally and enhances its surroundings.

Interactive

Our sculptures come alive through interaction, serving as stunning standalone pieces and dynamic canvases for light. Whether reflecting sunlight, laser beams, or controlled illumination, their movement and orientation open endless possibilities. We focus on developing innovative ways for humans to actively shape these visual compositions, from classic controls to cutting-edge methods in progress.

One of a Kind

Each of our sculptures is a true original, designed and crafted as a unique piece. Starting every time from scratch, we tailor the design to its specific context. Using durable, shatter-resistant acrylic glass and premium dichroic film, we ensure every creation stands the test of time, both in quality and individuality.

Art Exhibition

- Amsterdam

We were honored to showcase our installations at Vrij Paleis, a unique art gallery combined with artist studios in the heart of Amsterdam. Highlights included our mesmerizing Dancing Dolphins, whose spinning motion creates captivating shadows, and a newly designed, multi-faceted star sculpture, exhibited for the very first time in this inspiring setting.

Nightclub

- Cologne

This installation presents a striking figure suspended within a nightclub in Cologne, Germany. Set against a dark, industrial environment, it extends forward, illuminated by light and lasers from all sides. Serving as the heart of the dance floor, it continually enchants the dancing crowd beneath.

Music Festival

- Poland

For a music festival in Poland, we created a “Mystic Creature” inspired by the event’s concept. Set on a small island in the middle of a lake, its elongated limbs and claw-like extremities form a truly otherworldly figure, enhancing the festival’s ambiance with a mysterious allure.

LIGHT: Below we detail the lighting techniques we use to highlight our sculptures, bringing out their full potential. Since each piece’s impact is shaped by the way it’s illuminated, these methods ensure every color, angle, and reflection contributes to an unforgettable visual experience.

Mapping

By projecting patterns onto our sculptures, we influence their shadows and reflections. The result is an ever-changing visual tapestry that blends form and light into new dimensions.

Sunlight

With bright ambient light, sunlight amplifies the full color spectrum of our dichroic films, producing vibrant, glittering surfaces. Under natural daylight, however, distinct reflections are softer and more diffused.

Backlight

Illuminating the sculpture from behind highlights each triangle as a singular, vibrant hue. This approach creates a striking pattern that appears two-dimensional, offering a fresh perspective on its form.

Shadows

When bright light hits our sculptures, their shadows appear as vivid, analog projections. Multiple light sources cast distinct silhouettes across the walls, turning the space into a field of crisp shapes and dynamic perspectives.

Mono Color

Using filtered light to create specific tones allows the sculpture to reflect and emit these colors, achieving a desired atmosphere without requiring a fully colorful display.

Laser Beams

With lasers cutting through a gentle haze, our sculptures reflect and multiply beams in every direction. The result is a luminous explosion of light  - both beautiful and undeniably impressive.

Inner Light

Illuminating the sculpture from within projects soft, diffused light onto surrounding surfaces. Instead of casting shadows, this internal glow subtly alters its presence and atmosphere.

ABOUT: We are Dicro Dosis, a Berlin-based artist duo creating three-dimensional sculptures from acrylic glass covered with dichroic film.

Since 2019, we’ve refined our work by blending art and design methods - carefully considering each piece’s context, environment, and potential for interaction. While our play of light and color remains central, we’re now expanding how audiences can actively engage with our creations, exploring innovative ways to connect people and art.
